An empty page
to search.

Challenge

The worst of it was not how the site looked but what search could read. It was seven pages exported from a design tool and assembled in the browser, so crawlers and link previews saw an empty page, with no build step to fix it in. For a hotel competing on local search near the convention centre, that was the costliest fault.

Approach

A new look was the obvious first move, but on the old foundation a fresh design would still show search an empty page. So I rebuilt from the ground up, with every page rendered ahead of time, and laid it out again for phones rather than shrinking it. The redesign to the owner's brief came after.

I moved the copy into structured content files, defining the phone number and email once, and built the menu from what guests ask about first: the walk to the hall, the rooms and their rates. Booking stayed in chat, with dates, rooms and guests written into the message and each chat counted once per session as an ad conversion.

Result

Where crawlers once saw an empty page, every page now arrives complete and readable by search, on desktop and phone: the rooms with their rates, the walk to the convention centre in metres, and booking one tap away by chat.
